BUILDING CONTRACT SIGNED FOR BLUE COSMO 52 SOFT TOP PROJECT

Building Contract Signed for the First-of-Class Blue Cosmo 52 Soft Top
Cosmo Marine has signed a building contract with Turkish yacht builder Berke Marine for the construction of the first-of-class Blue Cosmo 52 Soft Top. The project marks an important milestone in the development of the Blue Cosmo 52 line, bringing the series’ modular cruiser concept into full realization through its first physical build.
The yacht is being constructed at Berke Marine’s production facility in Yalova, Turkey, where the yard will undertake the entire scope of work, including construction, outfitting, and testing. With many years of experience in composite yacht manufacturing, Berke Marine brings proven production expertise to the project, ensuring that the design intent is translated into a high-quality, fully realized vessel.
First-of-Class as a Reference Platform
As the first yacht of the Blue Cosmo 52 series to be built, the Soft Top variant plays a critical role beyond that of a single production unit. The first-of-class yacht is intended to serve as a reference platform—demonstrating Cosmo Marine’s design capabilities, validating key design decisions, and providing real-world data to support future developments within the Blue Cosmo 52 line.
Through this build, the design will be physically verified and, where necessary, refined to achieve the highest possible outcome. Hull form performance will be assessed based on actual sea trial results, while ergonomic solutions and material selections will be evaluated in real operating conditions. The insights gained from this process will directly inform subsequent yachts in the series, establishing a solid benchmark for quality, performance, and onboard experience.

The Soft Top Concept
The Blue Cosmo 52 Soft Top was developed to address the limitations often associated with open cruiser designs, particularly exposure to sun and rain, while preserving the defining pleasure of open-deck living. By introducing an integrated soft top canopy, the design significantly extends usability across different seasons and weather conditions.
The concept is rooted in balance: maintaining the open cruiser’s connection to the sea while offering shaded areas and the option to retreat to climate-controlled spaces when needed. Guests can enjoy the openness of the main deck without compromise, while still benefiting from enhanced protection and comfort during long days under the sun.

Enhanced Below-Deck Comfort and Performance-Oriented Design
Below deck, the Blue Cosmo 52 Soft Top sets itself apart from many conventional open cruisers. The layout offers increased comfort throughout, supported by a clear deck height that allows occupants to stand comfortably in all areas of the lower deck—an uncommon feature in this segment.
The hull form has been optimized to deliver superior seakeeping performance compared to typical open cruisers, ensuring a more stable and confidence-inspiring experience at sea. Combined with the refined interior arrangement, this makes the yacht well suited not only for day cruising, but also for extended stays and overnight anchoring.
The Soft Top variant is designed for owners who seek the pleasure of open-deck cruising without sacrificing comfort below deck—those who prefer to anchor in a quiet bay rather than return to a marina, and who value spending the night immersed in nature, directly connected to the marine environment.

Construction Progress and Next Steps
Construction of the Blue Cosmo 52 Soft Top is progressing steadily. The composite hull and structure have been completed, with main engine and generator installations finalized. Interior furniture production is currently underway, while preparations for the painting phase have begun.
Launch and sea trials are planned for spring, marking the next major phase in the project and a key step toward validating the yacht’s performance and design objectives.
As the first-of-class build advances, Cosmo Marine will continue to share updates, offering further insight into the development of the Blue Cosmo 52 Soft Top and the broader vision behind the series.
“The first-of-class Blue Cosmo 52 Soft Top represents a key step in validating our design philosophy. This build allows us to transform ideas into reality, test performance and comfort in real conditions, and refine every detail to ensure the uncompromising quality we set out to achieve for the entire Blue Cosmo 52 line.”
